During last more than 1000 years (after the arrival of Magyars to Europe) the Hungarian language borrowed thousands of common words from Slovak and other Slavic languages (Slovene, Croatian, Serbian, etc). There are also several words of Hungarian origin in Slovak. Maybe ten or twenty. They are not very important for the Slovak language. There are often more frequently used synonyms of Slavic origin. To be objective and precise, we will list them here too:
